The Wao-os Shrine in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom presents players with a physics-based puzzle centered around levers and catapult mechanisms. Tucked away in the chilly Hebra region, reaching this shrine requires a bit of exploration into local caverns. Once inside, mastering the trajectory of launched objects is key to reaching the end altar.
Finding the Wao-os Shrine Cave Entrance
The Wao-os Shrine is located at coordinates (-4057, 1989, 0183) inside West Lake Totori Cave in the Hebra Mountains. To locate the entrance, head to the dark ledge above the road west of Lake Totori near Passer Hill. Visiting the nearby cherry blossom tree can help illuminate cave openings across the surrounding landscape.
Once you spot the cave entrance on the cliffside, glide across and step inside to discover the shrine entrance tucked safely within. Exploring nearby caves in the region can also reward players with extra resources and Bubbulfrog gems.
Solving the Lever Power Target Puzzle
Inside the shrine, you are greeted with the challenge named Lever Power. You will find a seesaw catapult mechanism, a large bowl, a metal cube, and a glowing target across the gap. Attach the bowl to the end of the seesaw, place the orb inside, and drop the heavy metal cube onto the opposite side from a height to launch the ball into the target.
Hitting the first target unlocks a side room containing an additional wooden plank extension. Attach this plank to make the catapult lever significantly longer, allowing you to launch the orb even farther across the room.
Reaching the Hidden Treasure Chest
To reach the optional treasure chest, you must turn the catapult mechanism into a personal launcher. Step directly inside the bowl attached to the extended lever arm. Use Ultrahand to lift the metal cube high above the opposite end and drop it to launch Link high into the air.
Glide toward the elevated balcony on the right side of the chamber to open the chest. After collecting your reward, launch yourself once more to reach the final altar platform and claim your Light of Blessing.
